Our 5th Year students had the chance to soak up the last of the sunshine on their recent school tour to Clare. The group kicked off their adventure with a tour of the Aillwee Caves, one of the oldest caves in Ireland. Students saw first-hand the stalactites and stalagmites that have developed over thousands of years.
Next stop was the Burren National Park, where learning once again came to life. Students walked along the karst limestone landscape, amazed at the fact that the rocks that make up the Burren were formed over 300 million years ago. They also saw some ancient ring forts, combining their study of History and Geography.
The trip gave students a well-earned break from the classroom before their upcoming end-of-year exams. A huge thank you to Ms. King for organising such an enjoyable day out.
