Clonaslee College Sixth Years Celebrate Outstanding Leaving Certificate Results

Clonaslee College proudly welcomed back its Class of 2025 on Friday, 22nd August, as students returned to collect their Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied results. Teachers anstaff were eager to see students’ hard work come to fruition and to celebrate the exciting opportunities now opening for them in further education and future careers.

The school marked the occasion with refreshments, giving students the chance to reconnect with teachers, class tutors, their year head, and guidance counsellor. Principal Suzanne McMahon and Deputy Principal John Lee warmly greeted the students, commending their commitment and resilience.

Renowned for its strong academic record, Clonaslee College once again celebrated excellent results. Among the top achievers, who scored over 500 points, were Clodiagh Kennedy, Caoimhe Fitzpatrick, Cara Donogher, and Alanna Barrett — with Clodiagh achieving the maximum 625 points. An impressive 23% of students scored over 400 points. All students successfully passed their subjects, and the school was particularly proud of the achievements of its Ukrainian students, who excelled in their results.

The Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) group also impressed, with 50% of the class earning Distinctions—a remarkable accomplishment that reflects their dedication and the support of their teachers.

Speaking on the day, Principal McMahon praised both staff and students:

“It is wonderful to see such a strong turnout of students returning to celebrate their success. The results are a testament to the commitment of our students and the tireless support of staff. Every student has achieved their full potential, and that is something to be truly proud of.”

Clonaslee College, which upholds the ETB ethos of excellence in education, continues to foster a culture built on respect, care, community, and equality. The principal also expressed gratitude to the entire school team—including teachers, SNAs, and ancillary staff—whose dedication and teamwork were vital in guiding students toward their success.
