Our EAL students are currently taking part in a Read for Pleasure initiative which encourages students to enjoy reading and develop a love of books.
The project highlights the benefits of reading for learning and language development, while also helping students build confidence through shared reading.
Before the project began, students were surveyed. The results showed that many EAL students were not members of a library, or were members but were not actively using their library cards. Since the initiative began, this has changed. All EAL students are now library card holders and active members of our local library. After all, you always have a friend when you have a book in your bag.
A huge thank you to Laois Libraries for their support.
