Today, members of our TY Media Team travelled to the Midlands Skills Centre for a brilliant day of content creation and social media workshops. Students worked with Gregg Murphy and Gráinne Dilleen, lecturers at SETU, who shared their expertise in digital marketing, PR and content creation. Gregg was also instantly recognised by our students for his involvement in the brilliant Gogglebox!
We were delighted to meet up with TY Media squads from our LOETB Creative Cluster partner schools: Ard Scoil Chiaráin Naofa, Banagher College, Oaklands Community College and Kilcormac Community School.
Students took part in two hands-on workshops: one focused on digital marketing strategies and auditing popular websites, while the other challenged students to work together to create persuasive TikToks within tight time limits. We really enjoyed seeing the creative content produced and learning about the value of constructive feedback.
We are very grateful to Gregg and Gráinne for the time and effort they put into designing and delivering such engaging workshops. A big thanks also to Terence O’Brien, Digital Coordinator with Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board, for all his hard work behind the scenes organising the day, and to the staff at the Midlands Skills Centre for the warm welcome.
