Our TY podcasting team had an inspiring and hands-on workshop led by Helen Shaw from Athena Media and Tochar Stories, with fantastic support from Greg Kearns and Hazel Daly ️
Throughout the session, students developed key skills in interviewing, storytelling, and audio editing. They explored how to ask meaningful questions, shape compelling narratives, and bring stories to life through sound.
A special focus was placed on the value of local stories and the importance of preserving our oral history — ensuring that voices, experiences, and traditions from our community are not lost over time.
Students are now putting these skills into practice as they begin recording their own podcasts. Their projects will explore local history and the rich heritage of our surrounding boglands
We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and creativity, and we look forward to sharing their finished podcasts in the coming weeks!
