Second Year Art students were lucky enough to take part in an exciting hands-on workshop with a visiting Creative Ireland BLAST artist, Tina Claffey, organised by Ms Harkin.
Students explored creative photography by making their own camera obscuras (pinhole cameras) and learning how simple cameras work using light and a tiny pinhole. They also experimented with cyanotype paper, using sunlight to expose objects and create striking patterns.
Students also created mandalas and used their developed cyanotype prints to decorate their handmade cameras, combining photography, design and pattern.
It was a series of fun, practical activities and students really enjoyed the chance to work with Tina and experiment with new artistic techniques. We’d really encourage our followers to check out Tina’s fantastic work on her page @tinaclaffeyphotography on Instagram.
Keep an eye on our socials to see the brilliant workshop Tina also did with our TYs!
