Our Sixth Year English students headed to The Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone this week to watch the Gaiety School of Acting’s powerful production of Macbeth.
As part of their Leaving Cert programme, students are studying the play, so seeing it brought to life on stage by such a talented cast was hugely beneficial. Not only was it an enjoyable experience, but it also served as excellent revision. After the show, students took part in a workshop with members of the cast, who discussed characters, themes, and the key moments of the play. It was great it was designed with a clear Leaving Cert focus.
A big thank you to Ms. Fitzpatrick for organising the trip and to Ms. Sirotopova for accompanying the students.
