As we wrap up our final work experience spotlight before Christmas, we want to say a huge thank you to the wonderful local businesses and schools who welcomed our students, supported them, and helped them develop skills.
Liam tried his hand at retail in Scally’s Centra, experiencing the pace and responsibility of a busy shop environment.
Dylan worked with Tully’s Wholesale, seeing the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to keep businesses stocked and running smoothly.
Aine spent her placement in Gortnamona National School, discovering just how much primary school teachers manage to achieve in a single day.
Shane has been working with Brian Grimes Cabinetmaking, gaining first-hand insight into the importance of quality and accuracy, after seeing the hard work Brian puts into each individual project.
Closer to home, Liam also completed work experience in Flynn’s Londis, where he’s been learning the ropes in both the shop and post office. We’re lucky to have such a strong relationship with Flynn’s and appreciate their continued support of our students.
As Christmas approaches, we’d encourage everyone to remember and support the local businesses who give so generously to our school community.
After Christmas, our work experience placements will change, and we’ll be back in the coming months with more updates on the careers our students are exploring.
Thank you to all involved!
