It was an emotional day in Clonaslee College as we bid farewell to one of our longest-serving members of staff, our school secretary, Máire.
Máire has always been the first friendly face to greet staff, students and visitors alike. Her kindness, patience, and sense of humour have been at the heart of our school for over 20 years.
At Clonaslee College, we’re all about community and it was clear to see as our entire school came together to wish Máire every success as she moves on to her next adventure. Students made a lovely planter inscribed with a special message, so she’ll always have a little piece of Clonaslee with her. Staff and students also presented a scrapbook full of memories and stories from Máire’s time in the school, and well wishes for the times ahead.
Thanks to our student representatives who offered their gratitude and kind words. We were very proud of Igor, who delivered a lovely speech recalling how Máire was the first person to welcome him to the school and how she continued to support him ever since. His words perfectly captured the warmth and care she has shown to everyone who has passed through our doors.
