LC Subject Spotlight: Agricultural Science

It’s time for our TY students to start thinking about their senior cycle subject choices, and we’re continuing to take the mystery out of the Leaving Cert, one subject at a time.
Next up: Agricultural Science! Watch Here
Agricultural Science is a very popular subject in our school and continues to grow from strength to strength under the guidance of Mr Madden.
In this video, Mr Madden outlines what students can expect from Leaving Cert Agricultural Science, including the course content, the 25% Individual Investigative Study (IIS) project, and the many career pathways linked to Agricultural Science. He also highlights the beneficial links we have developed with Agri Aware in association with Laois and Offaly Education and Training Board, including our involvement in the Intro to Ag competition and participation in the LC Ag Science Coordinators’ Group.
We also hear from some of our students about their experience of the TY Agricultural Science taster programme, which inspired many of them to choose the subject for senior cycle, and about the hands-on nature of the course.
Our aim is to support students in making informed and confident subject choices. If you have any questions about Leaving Cert Agricultural Science, be sure to ask Mr Madden!
