LC Subject Spotlight: P.E!

It’s time for our TY students to start thinking about their senior cycle subject choices, and we’re continuing to take the mystery out of the Leaving Cert one subject at a time.

Next up: Physical Education!  Video Link Here

Leaving Cert PE is one of the newer subjects on offer in our school, introduced in 2021, and it has been going from strength to strength ever since.

In this video, Ms Staunton explains what students can expect from Leaving Cert PE, including the blend of practical performance and classroom-based learning, the different assessment elements, and the wide range of careers connected to sport, health, fitness and physical activity.

We also caught up with some of her current students to hear about their experiences of the subject so far and why they chose PE for senior cycle.

Our aim is to support students in making informed and confident subject choices. If you have any questions about Leaving Cert PE, be sure to ask Ms Staunton!
