It’s been a week full of numbers and plenty of fun here in Clonaslee College as students got stuck into a range of Maths Week activities both inside and outside the classroom.
Some of our students represented the school brilliantly in the LOETB Junior Maths Quiz in Portlaoise, facing off against neighbouring ETB schools.
Back on home turf, students were enjoying the fun side of maths. Friendly rivalry was rife in everything from the ever-popular Countdown competition to our fast-paced Game of 11s, where Harry Molloy was crowned champion. Our TYs put their problem-solving skills to the test in a hands-on construction challenge, building geodesic domes using just toothpicks and marshmallows. We’re not sure we’ve ever seen such concentration!
A big thanks to our brilliant Maths Department for all the effort that goes into making maths engaging and for reminding everyone that maths really is all around us.
