Weekly Update May 5th 2020
- Summer Assessments/Exams: Exam Calendar on school website
3rd year: remote online assessments will account for up to max 30% (determined by each subject department) and 70 % from evidence gathered from a range of modes of assessment including; Assignments, house exams, class tests/participation, mock results, presentations, tasks, journals, projects, e-portfolios, practical work completed, CBA’s over the course of second and third year.
1st & 2nd year: remote online assessments will account for up to max 25% (determined by each subject department) and 75 % from evidence gathered from a range of modes of assessment including; Assignments, house exams, class tests/participation, presentations, tasks, journals, projects, e-portfolios, practical work, completed this year prior to school closure on March 12th.
TY: project based assessments to be completed and submitted by May 15th.
5th year: remote online assessments will account for up to max 50% (determined by each subject department) and 50 % from evidence gathered from a range of modes of assessment including; Assignments, house exams, class tests/participation, presentations, tasks, journals, projects, e-portfolios, practical work, completed this year prior to school closure on March 12th.
School reports will be issued in June 2020.
- To assist students during remote on line assessments/exams, supports as required will be provided by management, the SEN and IT department. Any potential broadband or technical concerns should be raised with the relevant year head or management as soon as possible. The school will endeavour to resolve any issues in advance of the assessment dates.
- Covid 19 Exam Fees 2020
Leaving Certificate
The closing date for payment of the Leaving Cert exam fee is being extended until after the exams are complete and the results are to be issued.
Junior Cycle
Students will not be required to pay examination fees to the State Examinations Commission in relation to the 2020 Junior Cycle examinations. The State Examinations commission will be issuing a refund to all students who have already paid.
- School book publishing companies have very generously at this time made all school books available for free on line.
