Some of our Sixth Year students had a fantastic opportunity to attend the Portlaoise Institute Open Day, where they got a firsthand look at the wide variety of PLC courses on offer. From Childcare to Hair and Beauty, students explored an ever-growing list of exciting career pathways.
The day was filled with engaging introductions to a variety of courses, including some of the tertiary degrees now on offer locally. Students also had the chance to chat with some of the dedicated staff and get a real insight into what each course entails. Portlaoise Institute kindly offered to visit our school and provide workshops in the different sectors for interested students.
A huge thank you goes to Mr. Cotter, our Career Guidance teacher, for organising this informative trip. It was a valuable experience that sparked ideas for many of our soon-to-be graduates!
