We are incredibly proud of our Transition Year students, Emma Kelly, Céilidh Harte Maher, and Laura Costello, who showcased their hard work at the prestigious Certified Angus Beef Competition in Croke Park. Their project, ‘The Role of Grass in Beef Production,’ was the result of extensive research and preparation.
The students were thrilled with their display and the way their interviews went, impressing a panel of judges, which included Anna May McHugh, Managing Director of the National Ploughing Association (NPA), along with representatives from sponsoring companies Kepak and ABP. Competing at this level is a tremendous achievement, and we are especially proud that this marks the third time our school has progressed to this stage of the competition.
Adding to the excitement of the day, the team had the opportunity to meet new Minister for Education, Helen McEntee, who showed great interest in their project. A huge thanks to Jack and Conor, for their help with setting up the display and capturing the day’s events through photography.
With competition results due in just two weeks, we have our fingers crossed for Emma, Céilidh, and Laura. The future of Irish agriculture is in great hands!
