Work Experience Spotlight

We’re continuing our Work Experience Spotlight series by highlighting more of our TY students and the brilliant local businesses supporting their learning.
Fiachra is embracing his creative side in Esker Arts where he’s learning how a busy arts centre operates and seeing first-hand what goes on behind the scenes.
Michelle has been getting an insight into the engineering and manufacturing world with the team at Grant Engineering in Birr, gaining valuable experience in a large-scale workplace.
Grace is gaining fantastic hands-on experience in Annie Digan Hair Studio, a salon owned by one of our own past pupils. We are proud of Annie for becoming a successful young business owner at such a young age, and her willingness to pass on her knowledge and skills to our current students.
Some of our students are choosing practical, hands-on placements to give them an insight into the apprenticeship route. Billy is working with TDC Engineering, and Conor is learning all about building and design with Wesley Bennett Carpentry & Construction.
We’re once again hugely grateful to every business who has opened their doors to our students. Stay tuned to see the wide range of workplaces our TY students are involved in across our community.
And since Christmas is creeping closer, it’s never too early to think local! Book in with Annie’s salon, catch a show or an exhibition at Esker Arts, or support any of our wonderful local businesses who have supported our students throughout their placements.
