Home Economics is a very popular subject in our school and over the years we have been fortunate to see so many students develop valuable life skills through the subject. As Ms Gallagher often reminds students, Home Economics is not just an exam subject — it is a subject you will use for the rest of your life.

In this video, Ms Gallagher outlines the topics that students study for Leaving Cert Home Economics, the project components involved, and the wide range of pathways associated with the subject. She also highlights how the subject equips students with skills that they can carry with them long after school.

We also hear from some of our current TY students who share their experiences of the Home Economics subject taster and how much they are enjoying learning how to cook from scratch.
