A Fantastic First Day of Smile Week

Smile Week got off to a fantastic start with a jam-packed day of activities. The morning began with a surprise twist ‘You’ve Been Mugged!’ Some of our lucky teachers were caught off guard and delighted with a surprise coffee mug and sweet treat. Keep your eyes peeled… there may be more teacher muggings yet to come this week.

Meanwhile. Transition Year students made the most of the sunshine with a scenic hike and picnic at the beautiful Brittas Lake. What better way to start the week than fresh air, great company, and a visit to a local treasure?

Next, our 3rd Years kept the good atmosphere going with a Courtyard Takeover. At lunch, they took control of the speakers and shared their favourite playlist.

After lunch, it was the 6th Years’ turn to shine in a highly competitive Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Congratulations to the winning team- Manus Dunne, Amelia Dunne, Andrew Glancy, Tara Conroy, Kate Rosney, and Dymtro Rakhuba for an impressive display of teamwork and skill.

Then came the heat of the kitchen- the Second Annual Staff Bake Off! Tensions were high as teachers rolled up their sleeves and wondered whether Mr Callaghan would reclaim his title as Clonaslee’s Best Baker. Ms Cleare was on hand to ensure everything ran smoothly and that there was no funny business.

Taking on the tough task of judging were four of our 6th Year students, each chosen for their unique strengths: Alanna earned her place on the panel as a passionate Home Economics student with a sharp eye for detail. Sean, our Head Boy, may be quiet—but his standards for dessert are anything but. Shane’s love of a good snack is well known, but it was his honesty that made him the perfect judge. Cara, our Head Girl, brought her artistic flair to the table, looking for top marks in both taste and presentation. The judging panel didn’t hold back with their compliments or their critiques, and we’re eagerly awaiting the results, to be revealed tomorrow.

Stay tuned and check the schedule for a bumper day of Smile Week activities tomorrow – the fun is only getting started!
