World Down Syndrome Day 2025 – Rock Your Socks!
Students and staff came together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day 2025 by taking part in the Rock Your Socks campaign! They showcased their creativity by designing their own unique socks and proudly wearing colourful, mismatched pairs to raise awareness.
As part of the day, we also learned about Fionn Crombie Angus, a Galway man who addressed the United Nations in New York on March 21st to speak about improving support systems and self-directed support for individuals with Down syndrome.
Additionally, we explored the inspiring story of Yann O’Carroll from Tralee and his father Gerard , who met with TánaisteSimon Harris ahead of World Down Syndrome Day. They shared their experiences regarding employment, independence, and advocacy while highlighting the improvements needed in society to better support people with disabilities.
It was a fantastic and meaningful day, reinforcing the importance of inclusion, awareness, and empowerment for all! #etbethos #care #community
