We would like to take a moment to congratulate two of our senior students, Killian (6th Year) and Billy (5th Year), on their fantastic sporting achievements outside of school.
Killian recently made history with his local club, Kilcavan GAA, who were crowned Laois Shopping Centre Intermediate Football Champions for the first time in the club’s 81-year history! With Killian between the posts, the team secured a historic victory and, with it, promotion to the Senior Football Championship for 2027. We wish Killian and his teammates the very best of luck as they begin their Leinster Club Championship campaign against Dunlavin on Saturday, 31st October. We will all be cheering you on!
Billy has also been enjoying a remarkable run of success with Mountmellick Parish Gaels and Shamrocks. He was part of the team that claimed the Minor A Football Championship title before adding a Minor B Hurling Championship title to his collection, following a victory over Clonad/Trumera. What an achievement to be crowned a county champion in both football and hurling in the same year!
Both lads are wonderful ambassadors for sport in our school, proudly representing us on our senior soccer, football and hurling teams. Their dedication and enthusiasm for sport are a credit to themselves, their clubs and our school community. We were absolutely delighted to welcome Killian and Billy with their championship cups and to have the opportunity to celebrate their success with them. We are very proud of both lads and wish them continued success in their sporting careers!
